A Moment in Time

A Moment in Time

Happy Summer my scrappy friends!!  I have a new layout of my youngest grandson Cameron staring off into the clouds.  He is such a serious child, with deep thoughts.  He is so smart!!!!  I love steampunk and thought I would “YES” use flowers with it to add some color.  Hope you Enjoy!!

You may recognize the paper collection I used from Stamperia?  It’s the “Time” collection which features lots of wonderful timepieces, clogs, gears, etc., that are perfect for masculine layouts.  For this layout the first chipboard I used is the Harlequin Circle    I applied clear gesso on the chipboard then a Lindy’s Stamp Gang “Cocoa Bean Copper” Star Burst Spray.  You would not believe the shiny copper that is left behind.

Here’s another closeup

I decided to extended some additional Distressed Harlequin Pieces beyond the circle in different places to add some interest.

CE has quite a collection of Steampunk vehicles (cars, trains, etc.)  Here’s one Steampunk Car 2 all dressed up in acrylic paint, distress stain, and wax rubbed into the body of the vehicle which makes it look like leather.

To add a little more Steampunk flair I added the Airship which is the first one in a series of 3 all of which are wonderful.  I did a lot of embellishing on this piece.  I kept trying to get it just the right way, and had a terrible time.  Finally, I decided on the Nuvo “Glitter Drops” in copper to outline the main outlines in the piece.  There are so many details which are marked on the chipboard.  It’s very cool.  Here’s a photo or 2.

The title of the layout is A Moment in Time which is based on the chipboard title which I painted with acrylic painted and hand rubbed with a copper ink.  I also used throughout the layout the Gears 1 1/2″ Set which I painted gold and then rubbed with a light brown to tone down the brassy look of the gold.  I tucked them in around the flowers and other places to demonstrate that Steampunk (or masculine) and flowers blend very well.

I hope you had a good time today and are having fun this summer doing some crafting.  Please stop by and join us again.  Till next time….
