Happy Halloween Witch Hat

Happy Halloween Witch Hat

Hello CE Friends! I was browsing Michaels craft store for something to alter. I looked in the paper mache area..the wood area…etc. This witch hat is all that called out to me. I get bored with layouts and enjoy some altered art once in awhile. With Halloween right around the corner I thought why not. I know Brandi altered one earlier in the month with our products but thought I would give it a go. Halloween is my fave holiday.IMG_7722

I started by altering our fancy oval frame using gesso for the base applying distressed mowed lawn paint and adding crackle to finish. I added a little black soot distress stain to make the crackle pop.  I thought it would be fun to add webs to the brim of the hat. They were altered using grey may gold paint for the base coat. I then applied white 3d stamp paint to our crackle stamp and stamped the image onto the webs. I also added a little purple inka metallic to the webs for a bit of added color. The feathers were altered with a base coat of gesso, purple lindys stamp gang mist and a little glitter.

The happy halloween title was altered with gesso for the base, tim holtz distress stain in a purple color and I then applied purple glitter.

Flourish 15 was simply altered using mowed lawn distress paint and grey maya gold paint that I stamped on using our crackle stamp. The wood veneer bats have a base coat of grey may gold and some distressed green stickles.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you like my project and have a creative Thursday.
