Altered PL box with Maria

Hi everybody! Can you believe another year has come and gone!? Its unbelievable how fast time flies.  2015 is just around the corner whether we’re ready or not!…

Today i’m sharing with you a Studio Calico Project Life box that i altered.

This started out as a kraft color, plain cardboard box (not the fancy flip-open ones they started sending.. I have one of those already altered as well, a project for another post).  I painted the entire thing with black acrylic paint and applied my paper. I then used some Distress Ink in colors Black Soot, Pumice Stone, Broken China and Barn Door to randomly stamp around the paper. I used the Distress Gird stamp and the Distress Crackle stamp. I took some Mister Hueys in black and blue and misted in several spots. I also took the sprayer out of the bottle and tapped it to allow ink droplets to splatter on the page. Next i mixed some Lindys Stamp Gang Magicals with modeling paste and applied that over a Tim Holtz stencil to create some texture. I painted the Chicken Wire Border Chippie black and cut it down to size. I then painted the Pussy Willow chippie red. I tore and distressed some strips of paper, inked the edges then layered those elements on the page. The ‘Life’ and ‘Laugh’ circles are stamps i stamped onto white cardstock and cut out with a 1.5″ circle punch. I added my ‘Love’ letters and some blue gems to finish it off.
