Happy April fools day!! 🙂 It’s time for another monthly challenge already. Wow, where is the time going? The months are flying by. April is a busy birthday month here. Mine, Shona’s and Doris will be celebrating. It’s super cool that both Doris and Shona share a b-day. That happened last term with Sandi and I. Fun Fun.
With spring here in the northern hemisphere I found this picture to be an appropriate one for this months inspiration. There is no twist this month. It’s an anything goes kind of month. Don’t forget to tell us what element inspired you and to use at least 1 of our products on your project. Be sure to read our challenge guidelines below.
Hi everyone! This months inspiration photo reminds me of Spring time with blooms and butterflies…so I was inspired to create this card from it. I have used the Distressed Text Stamp in the background and tucked in pieces from Flourish Set 10 and Distressed Chicken Wire Border here and there on the card. I hope you all play along with this month challenge!
I was inspired by the happy thought our inspiration picture brought to my mind. I use a LOT of chipboards from Creative Embellishments store, left overs from Titles & Quotes & Sayings section. There is a process video, too – enjoy!
Hi there Creative Embellishment fans! Kathleen here with my take on this month’s challenge. Spring to me is the embodiment of faith in the renewal of nature. This is a picture of my daughter in the rose garden at Regent Park, London. I look forward to seeing how you are inspired by this challenge.
Well I think its pretty obvious how I was inspired by this challenge. 😉 I sort of replicated the image above in the background of this canvas. I was on a fairy kick last month and I think it carried over a bit into the beginning of this month. 🙂 Let start with how I altered our large branch. I first applied heavy gesso to create texture and then applied color using TH vintage photo distress paint. I went over with a darker brown colored faber castell pitt pen in some areas for dimension. Lastly I added a little black ink for even more dimension and texture. For a fun spring feel I added flowers to the branches. The fairies were both altered similarly. I added white gesso to their bodies. The wings were altered using purple lumiere paint and TH sugar spun distress paint. I finished with purple and pink glitter to match the wings. Set 1 mushrooms were altered again using my go to TH paints. I started with antique linen , then layered vintage photo and black soot paints. I altered the Imagine title piece in two-tone. I used turqouise and purple lumiere paints. I altered the new grass set using a dark green Faber Castell pitt pen and TH mowed lawn paint.
I was inspired by the springtime theme of the photo. The bright, cheery colors, flowers and butterflies. I painted my frame pink. I inked the words ‘Love you’ and ‘Beautiful’ in the corners with a color just a little darker than the light pink backround for a tone on tone effect. I painted all of my chippie elements with acrylic paint and then layered them up in opposite corners. Chippies used: Frond Set 1, Butterflies, Flourish Butterfly set 2, Rectangle Flourish Frame 2, Autumn Leaves Set, Dream Word Set.
Hi all you CE fans! Here is my LO for the Challenge this month! Since it was anything goes, I played with some snap shots my Mom took of my Dad. I have loved these photos since I seen them and new I would scrap them one day! The Photo Booth Film strips CE Chippies fit the bill to a T for synchronized shots that mom took! Everyone in the family could tell ya what dad was saying in the snapshots. LOL The lower title piece also has a film strip from the Wavy Film strip collection. That’s why I titled it “Classic Dad” which is also CE Chunky Alpha set. Then of course the #Smile, from the Social Hash tag collection because that is what Mom ended up telling him to do to get the last lovely shot! All Chippies was either coated with Black gesso or left raw with a little black inker on the edge. Then to create the BG I used the following stamps, Distressed Checkered, Distressed Corner Stamp, and Distressed Screen stamp all stamped with versamark in black. Most of all the layout was created using the Flying Unicorn April KOM! Hope to see ya playing along with us this month!!
Hi friends! I was inspired by the flowers and butterflies for my layout. Spring is my favorite season for because, where I live, the trees, flowers and grass come alive. It’s a time for renewal. For my layout, I painted the white cardstock background with some acrylic paint dabbers and then used the Distressed Chicken Wire Stamp on the right hand side. For the title, I fussy cut a letter out of some patterned paper from the We R Memory Keepers Love Notes Collection and then I added the Spring Love Chipboard of which I heat embossed with some gold embossing powder. For the Be Mine Heart Frame, I painted it white and dabbed on some pink paint. For the Hearts Panel Chipboard, I cut off a tiny section of the panel, painted it and heat embossed it with some clear embossing powder. For the Tulips Chipboard, I also painted it with some acrylic paints and then heat embossed it with some clear embossing powder. Finally, I added a wood veneer Conversation Heart that I dabbed with some acrylic paint. Hope you are inspired to join in for the April Challenge!
Spring has sprung in our household. I made this to sit on my mantle. I pulled out my Once Upon a Springtime collection from Graphic 45 and fussy cut images. I added papers from the collection to the blocks I painted white. I love the 6 x 6 chipboard panels. I painted the quarterfoil one white and cut it up to unify all the pieces. I have a spring floral swag that will be draped over the top when it the blocks become my spring centerpiece.
Hello gang! I loved this month’s inspiration photo and was inspired by a number of different things! My daughter has been begging me to make her a mailbox for some time and I was finally able to finish it for her! I was inspired by the beautiful colors, and flowers, as well as the butterflies! I used a few different pieces from the store including the wooden heart on the front from the wooden hearts set, one of the damask stamps from the Damask Trio Stamp set, butterfly flair from the Butterfly flair set, the blue rose flair from the Mother’s Day flair set. And finally, the “love” word piece from the Happy word set!
