LO {keep the balance} by Terhi

Hello all! It’s Terhi here again with a layout about keeping the balance. The balance could be about my personal life: family, work, hobbies, health… But now I’m talking about balance on your layouts – why not on cards, too.

I think a good balanced layout includes two things no matter what your style is. First you need a great picture. The second thing is papers and embellishments matching to the picture. That’s it. Sound too simple?

Well, the trick is to find those matching things. It’s not always as simple as it might sound. If you have orange shirt in your great picture, can you add bright blue patterned paper? I think not, as blue and orange are complementary colors. But if you choose white, grey, light orange, maybe some red tones – you have a perfectly balanced layout (or card!)!

Finding perfect colors to this layout was easy, as the picture is black and white. As I wanted to journal about balance, I thought to choose light and harmony colors with some glittery details. The combination of white, light pink and gold is just so delicious!

I used Distressed Crackle Stamp to the background. With black ink and with embossing powders. Then I chose Leafy Vine Frame to create a frame for my picture. I altered it with clear glitter embossing powder, I love how the chipboard craft color get deeper with it.

How about you? Do you ever think about balance on your layouts or other creations?

Have a great day!!!
