Thanks again for being amazing supporters. I wish everyone a healthy, prosperous, creative and Happy New Year!!
This months challenge is to be inspired by 1 element from the picture below. It has a steampunk feel to it but you do not have to create anything steampunky. There are sooo many things to be inspired by.Perhaps the birdhouses, lamps, metal elements, colors, snow etc etc please do not feel overwhelmed by this photo. My intentions are just for everyone to create something fun. Let us now what you were inspired by in the picture. The twist is to use something circular on your projects. Please be sure to read the new guidelines below.
Hi everyone and Happy New Year! This month’s inspiration photo is so beautiful. I have used the snowflakes and colors as inspiration to scrap this layout of my sweet boy Olaf. I have used pieces from the Snowflake frame and Snowflake chippys…I also used the Snowflake grungy stamp. I hope that you all play along with us this month!
Hello scrap friends ! I wish you an excellent new year with lots of scrap !! I was inspired by blue and red colors on this picture. I used Distressed circle Stamp with VersaMark ink and embossing powder. I also embossed my title “Capture The Moment” with 2 colors of embossing powder and for Chevron Pieces and Mini Circle Panel, I embossing with white embossing powder. I made a lot of embossing, lol. I cant wait to see what everyone creates for this challenge !!
Happy New Year Scrappy Friends! I’m so happy to be here with my first project for Creative Embellishments! I was inspired by the Steampunk feeling to the January Challenge image and decided to create a fun Steampunk Canvas featuring my son. I’ve used a whole lot of different chipboard elements to create my project: pieces of the Harlequin Panel, the Steampunk Hat Set, Steampunk Wings Set 4, some of the 1-inch Gears, two of the Industrial Hanging Light Bulbs, and the Imagine title. The chipboard pieces were painted with black gesso and then treated with a combination four different colours of Inka Gold rubs, Gold and Copper Dimensional Paints, glossy accents and both holographic and Black Soot Distress embossing powders. I’ve also used Creative Embellishments Distressed Harlequin Stamp to emboss the pattern on the top hat!
I really went for the steam punk mixed media grunge on this piece, the colors of red, yellow, and blue just jumped out at me and i went with it! I altered all the chippies (various Gears – 3/4″, 1″, and 1.5″ and also Snowflakes) with Tattered Angels Glimmer mists, glimmer glams, and paints until the had some fun textures and shimmers to them. I layered these all up in a 4″x4″ canvas with lots of texture added to it and misted, some dies painted, and a few little added words to tie it all together. So get your grungy on and lets see you you create with this amazing inspiration!
Happy New Year everyone !!! I hope that this new year 2016 will be filled with happines and warmth . When i saw this month’s challenge picture i immediately knew i wanted to do a steampunk canvas . I was inspired by the colours – blue , white and brown. I was also inspired by the lights . I added to my canvas Industrial Light Hanging Chandelier I’ve cut it in pieces . I also used my favorites chipboards gears large , medium , small and Steampunk frame. I applied on them white and black gesso . Then I used mists silver and gold 13 arts and mica powders , gold , rust and silver .For my title I choose Happy New Year which I painted with my mica powders sprays : frozen lake , summer sky and blue .
There are so many things that I was inspired by to create this canvas. Of course the cool steampunk engine was one. I actually even designed a chippie around the engine. The snow, birdhouses, lights/lamps, umbrellas and colors. I hope I didn’t forget anything. I altered the steampunk car 3 using fired brick TH distress stain ,black distress ink and white modeling paste for the snow that I added a bit of glitter to. The steampunk frame was altered using lumiere paint in copper color. I added little copper crackle paste by prima. The birdhouses were altered the same manner the car was altered. The umbrellas and lamps were altered using black lumiere paint. Lumiere pewter paint was what I applied to the mini steampunk hot air balloon. The cut apart icicle border pieces were altered using weathered wood TH distress paint and white modeling paste. The snowflakes were altered with modeling paste and glitter. I finished the project by flicking white picket TH distress paint onto the canvas. However I am still debating whether to add some opaque flakes. Note: I did cut some of the CE products smaller then they are in the store. Don’t forget we do take custom orders.
Happy New Year!!! How amazing is this months challenge. The inspirational picture is just right up my alley. I simple love Steampunk. For this months challenge I have created a journal book cover out of a paper bag, and turned it into this grungy steampunkish journal cover. Once my paper bag was all opened up and folded I adhered a pcs. of heavy chipboard to the front cover to give it a more sturdy feel. I then covered the entire surface with black gesso, once dry I used 2 different types of stencils and modeling paste to get some texture. I let it all dry over night and once dry I went over the entire surface with white acrylic paint and while the paint was still wet I smeared on white glue and got this great background effect.
Next comes the fun part. adding the beautiful chipboard pcs. I got from Creative Embellishments . I adhered the chipboard pcs with white glue and used mica powders in shades of turquoise, bronze, and black to give more color to my cover. The last element I added to my cover where micro beads, randomly spread to give my cover a bit more texture.
For this journal cover I used the following,
* Steampunk Gear Panel – http://creativeembellishments.com/…/steampunk-gear-panel.html
* Flourish No. 1 – http://creativeembellishments.com/…/flouris…/flourish-1.html
* Antique clock – http://creativeembellishments.com/chipbo…/antique-clock.html
